Equine Productions Trot to Summer Horse Show

logostacked (2)Equine event experts Definitive Events, through its equine subsidiary Equine Productions (EP) Pty Ltd will conduct the Summer Horse Show (SHS), formerly the Royal Melbourne Horse Show. Having had a long term relationship with The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) for a number of years, the opportunity to acquire the event that fitted well within EP’s expertise was welcomed by both organisations.

Equine Productions boasts a long, proud and successful equine event portfolio with EQUITANA Australia and the Equine Lifestyle Festival. EP’s strength lies in established industry connected teams together with savvy operational expertise, allowing them to attractively expand on the current competition centric model of the SHS.

Managing Director Rod Lockwood said EP are committed to maximising the appeal and success of the show for all involved and ensure it continues to grow and improve as a prestigious event promoting and benchmarking breeds.

A great amount of work has been manifesting behind the scenes to create an atmosphere worthy of this accolade Lockwood said; with innovations including the addition of the National Heavy Horse Festival to the program and plans to include performance centric disciplines such as Pony Dressage, Performance Pony, Jumping and Interschool Showmanship to enhance the action packed schedule.

The already comprehensive program encompasses over 36 individually represented breeds, Riding for the Disabled, Pony Club, Horse Riding Clubs and Associations of Victoria (HRCAV) competitions and the much anticipated Grand National Qualifying Saddle Horse Championships presenting the glitz and glamour that epitomises the show horse discipline. In addition an expansive trade village, exciting Australiana themed activities and event styling will enhance the spectator experience.

RASV remain stakeholders within the SHS as an event partner. CEO of RASV Mark O’Sullivan said the event has a well-established history and has been widely supported by the equine community, standing alone as the biggest breed show since 1993, with the potential to continue to grow under the management of EP.
