EQUITANA Melbourne just wouldn’t be what it is without the amazing volunteers working behind the scenes. The EQUITANA Melbourne team is excited about this year’s event and thrilled to have Pryde’s EasiFeed assisting in putting together a fantastic Volunteer Program.
Being a Volunteer at EQUITANA Melbourne is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in the many different aspects of the largest equine event of its kind in Australia, as well as enjoy working with a great team and wide range of equine industry experts and leaders. With various jobs available from customer service, assistance with competition and education programs to working within the stables, it is a unique chance to experience the event from a different perspective.
We are often asked what makes our volunteers come back each year, so direct from the “horses’ mouth”, here is some insight into what it means to be an EQUITANA Volunteer:
“I come back to EQUITANA each year as a volunteer for the privilege of being smack bang in the middle of the most amazing horse event in the country, to get a front row seat (and sometimes rub shoulders backstage) with the best trainers in the business, and to enjoy the spectacle that is EQUITANA. Mostly though, I come back for the special people who make the show what it is”

Leasa Stephen has been the Volunteer Manager since 2002, and year after year is blown away with the calibre and dedication of applicants to the volunteer program. “EQUITANA Volunteers show a passion for the event and thrive on the challenges involved in pulling something of this size together with such a high level of professionalism. From experienced and long-serving volunteers, to those newbies who may be volunteering for the first time, year after year, their commitment humbles me. It’s an absolute honour working with such a group.” She said.
With Pryde’s EasiFeed back for the second time as proud sponsors of the 2014 volunteer program, the 200 strong team will not only be right up with the action of EQUITANA, they will also once more have the support and backing of Pryde’s EasiFeed, one of Australia’s leading Equine Feed Manufacturers.
