These awards are given to all phases of Equestrian sports and all were represented on the night, many well known competitors as well as Australias Olympic representatives were there.

Horse Driving Trials in Australia is a relatively unknown sport ,even though Australian Boyd Exell is 6 times World indoor champion and Australias ONLY gold medallist at the World Equestrian Games. Our Club has worked with huge effort from it’s members and friends to erect FEI standard,  obstacles at the Tamworth venue,AELEC which was heralded by visiting FEI official Dr Assendorf (Ger) as an incredible place and we should be very grateful to have it.Which we are, of course and we look forward to the next two FEI events to be held there.Along with the exciting skills of Boyd Exell who will be at both events.

Our Club has worked together to run many events and Open days,”Come and Try” carriage driving. To promote the sport and skill of driving,we have been recognized by the NSW Body for services to Carriage Driving., the prestigious,

Gow Gates Award……………Mrs Judy Meredith
Athlete of the year…………..Mr Bill Wicks
Driven horse of the Year……Sazz.
Driven horse owner of the year Mr and Mrs Wicks

Unfortunately we were unable to have a junior representative for the awards, this is an area the Club wishes to pursue ,getting more Juniors involved in the sport, whether you have a horse or pony ,we can always teach you the skills the club has two EA coaches and there is always someone looking for a navigator, you’ll have to come along to find out what that involves.Love horses, Love a spectacle, you’ll Love Carriage driving.
