AFTER more than three decades working alongside some of Australia’s leading stables, Sydney horsewoman Clare Oxley is taking the next step in her commitment to equine health.
The founder of EquaCare, has relaunched the business as EquaVetz, reflecting the evolution from a specialist nutrition business into a science-led equine health company.
Known throughout the industry for her work alongside trainers, veterinarians and horse owners, Clare has built a reputation for putting horse welfare at the centre of everything she does.
“EquaVetz isn’t simply a new name, it’s a reflection of what we’ve become and where we’re headed. Australia produces some of the world’s best horses, and we believe it can also produce world-leading equine health innovation,” founder Clare Oxley said.
“We’ve built this business by solving real problems for trainers and horse owners, and now we have the opportunity to take these Australian innovations to stables around the world.”
Champion thoroughbred trainer Chris Waller said Ms Oxley had become one of the industry’s most respected voices through her unwavering commitment to horse welfare and evidence-based care.
“I have known Clare for over twenty years, and throughout that time she has made equine care and welfare a central part of her life. At every stage of her career, she has continued to build on that passion and commitment,” Mr Waller said.
“Her work has always reflected someone who is passionate not just about products, but about the wellbeing of both horses and their owners.”
The company has evolved beyond nutritional supplements to develop equine health systems, veterinary products and private-label solutions for some of Australia’s largest pet and equine retailers. It is now backed by the founders of global animal health company VetzPetz, who hold a majority stake in the business.
Founded in 2021, EquaVetz has decades of experience in nutritional formulation for private clients, developing hundreds of proprietary formulations, including 25 retail products, while also launching their first Schedule 4 veterinary-only equine product in 2025.
The business has also established private label partnerships with leading brands including VetzPetz, Pet Circle, PetStock, and Horseland, and has maintained a presence in the Middle East since opening an office in Abu Dhabi in 2022.
“I remember thinking we were always looking for another product to fix a problem instead of asking how we could help prevent it in the first place,” Ms Oxley said.
“Everything we’ve created since has been driven by that philosophy. We don’t formulate products simply to add another supplement to the shelf, we develop nutritional systems that help horses stay healthier, recover better and perform at their best.”
For Clare, the rebrand marks the beginning of a new chapter, taking Australian-developed equine health innovation to horse owners around the world.
The EquaVetz brand launches nationally 2nd September with the company preparing to expand its product portfolio into international markets throughout 2027.
