Dog trainer, Farmer, Entrepreneur and TV Star David ‘Dave’ Graham has been announced as the official Ambassador for the Equine Lifestyle Festival (ELF); an all-encompassing event celebrating the culture of regional horse and dog competitions and a showcase of country living, lifestyle and agriculture.

Equine event experts Definitive Events, through its equine subsidiary Equine Productions (EP) Pty Ltd will conduct the Summer Horse Show (SHS), formerly the Royal Melbourne Horse Show. Having had a long term relationship with The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) for a number of years, the opportunity to acquire the event that fitted well within EP’s expertise was welcomed by both organisations.

Entries closed on July 22, resulting in more than 200 riders set to complete 410 tests on 266 horses across all levels from September 3 to 6 at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC).

Entries are up on last year’s event, which saw a total of 327 tests ridden.

Amateur Owner Riders (AOR) will compete in their own division for the first time in 2015, with 163 riders entering on 86 horses.

The total cost of the Crackin’ Cancer part of the ride is $200. That will include the cost of the Welcome Dinner and the Goodbye Dinner. A $25 – non-refundable deposit to be paid to Crackin Cancer is required for all bookings.

Legendary Aussie horseman and international clinician, Ken Faulkner, has joined H&C TV and will be the first horse trainer to present a series via the Australian channel.

Ken is renowned for his skill working with horses of all levels and disciplines and is a much-loved favourite among the equine community. Apart from his skill in turning out lovely riding horses and problem solving difficult cases, Ken was also the winning trainer of Equitana’s “Way of the Horse” contest in 2013, showing an amazing depth of understanding and patience with his young, unhandled horse.

Australian World Equestrian Games (WEG) representative Brett Parbery has taken out the Shadow Trailers Grand Prix CDI during the first day’s competition of the 2015 Sydney CDI.

Brilliant sunshine greeted competitors and officials at day one, which saw riders compete in the Prix St Georges CDN and CDI, Intermediate A, Grand Prix CDN, Under 25 Grand Prix, CDI-Y Team test and the Grand Prix CDI.
