NSW Southern Highlands rider Sue Hearn and her horse Remmington have won the showcase event, the Equestrian NSW FEI Grand Prix Freestyle competition at the 2016 Sydney CDI***.

Riding last in the class in front of a packed indoor arena at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC), Sue and Remmington ended a highly successful Sydney CDI by putting in a stunning performance to score 71.275 per cent.

Competition has been fierce at the second day (Thursday, April 7) of Australia’s most prestigious international dressage event, the 2016 Sydney CDI***.

World Equestrian Games (WEG) representative Brett Parbery from NSW took out the first competition of the day, the Jilli Cobcroft Prix St Georges (CDI 3*) , on Jane Farrell’s chestnut gelding, Larenso, with 71.16 per cent ahead of fellow NSW rider Daniella Dierks on her own Solo Feliz with 70.11 per cent.

GET READY, as a distinguished list of international judges will be making their way to Sydney to officiate at the Sydney CDI 2016.

Our very own, Susie Hoevenaars (FEI 5* Judge) will be heading up this international contingent as the Chairman of the Sydney CDI Ground Jury. Scone-based competitor Lisa Martin will be aiming to secure a second Rio Paralympic qualifying score when she competes at the 2016 Sydney CDI***.

It’s the first time Lisa has attempted to qualify for an Australian Paralympic team, having been assessed as suitable for Grade Four competition earlier this year.

Judy Dierks’ love affair with dressage began when she first met her husband-to-be and dressage coach, Clemens Dierks. The Australian dressage scene was just in its infancy when Judy joined the fold. Impressively, some thirty years on – Judy continues to inspire dressage enthusiasts with her standout performances.
